Perth City: bookings are not always
essential. It depends on the season and the time of year. School holiday seasons
are essential to pre-book. The rest of the time vacancies are plentiful.
For Perth and outskirts I suggest a bed and breakfast type of
accommodation or motels. These types are friendly and will offer advice and
personalized help. For names and contacts for places I would recommend using the
internet to find a suitable place.
North of Perth
There are plenty of Motels situated in all major country towns and offer
good clean boarding and pets are allowed at most. Meals served are tasty and nice.
Drinks are available. Rooms are air conditioned with TV and own bathroom with
toilet. Rates are good. ( From $60 per night )
Caravan Parks are every where. There are plenty to choose from and rates are
reasonable. Simply drive in and book for the night. School holiday season, most
are full come the evening, so be early if you intend staying in these. (
Rates from $10 per night )
Camping can be free or paid, it depends where you are at the time. Allot of
councils these days stick out their paws and want money to camp in their
territory using lame excuses as reasons for the charge, regardless if they
provide comforts like toilets or not. This seems to so far only be a Western
Australia thing. The Eastern states has more freedom with places set aside and
it is all free. If you are in such a territory I suggest using the
"Rest places" which are a few Kilometers apart of each other with
signs and are plentiful. Most these have toilets and solar night lights and is
CALM or Roads Department controlled.
Some are small and others have large areas with picnic tables and you can
select a private spot to stop and camp at. Most the rivers have these stops and
at these staying a few days is perfect, free of charges.
